Xbox Wednesdays: Track and Field Now Available!

Konami's Track & Field is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 MS Points ($5). I played the trial version, and between this and Pac-Man C.E. you better have several back-up controllers handy, because you are going to wear out the left thumbstick. Personally I was hoping the running would be some button mashing, instead you have to toggle the left thumbstick left and right to run. Mrs. Lefty downloaded the full version so be sure to listen to our inaugural podcast which will be up and running by Monday.

Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360

On September 25, when you play sick from wrok to pick up your Legendary edition of Halo 3, you'll see yet another version of the Xbox 360... a Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360 console! No word on how "special" or limited this console will be. It was designed by the same team that created the mighty tempting Halo 3 themed Zune. This Xbox 360 features:

  • Halo 3 Special Edition Console
  • Halo 3 Special Edition Wireless Controller
  • Halo 3 Special Edition 20GB Hard Drive
  • Halo 3 Special Edition Wired Headset
  • Halo 3 Special Edition Gamer Pics and Theme (Exclusive download via Xbox LIVE)
  • Component HD AV Cable
  • Ethernet Cable
  • HDMI Port
  • Play & Charge Kit
  • Xbox LIVE Silver Membership
  • One-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership
Wait a minute. The console comes with a HDMI port, which is a plus by some gamers...but I furgure those Halo 3 fanactics may want more than just a 20GB Hard Drive...you know to download all those Red vs. Blue episodes in glorious HD.

No word yet on cost. No word yet on how long these Spartan green & gold colored consoles will be on the shelves. And no word on if these consoles will have the new chips to prevent the dreaded 3 rings of death.

Players can keep score to see who is the true trivia master, or play in party mode and entertain the crowd for hours at a time. The “Scene It?” brand is recognizable worldwide, with more than 10 million DVD board games sold in more than 15 countries. “Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action” for the Xbox 360 will ship this holiday season.

“Scene It?” is the pioneer of the DVD game category, and since it was launched in 2001, more than 10 million board games sold. With more than a dozen editions on the market — including best-selling Disney, Harry Potter, Sports, Music and Movie editions — the “Scene It?” brand of games has won multiple awards from the toy industry. In its first year, “Scene It? Movie Edition” sold more units than Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, and other top-rated board games during their corresponding launch periods. “Scene It?” is sold in 26 countries and 9 languages, and the second edition of the hit movie title will be released later this summer.

Features include the following:

· New movies, puzzle challenges and multiplayer action. The Xbox 360 game includes more than 1,800 questions not seen before in any other “Scene It?” retail product. “Scene It?” for the Xbox 360 will feature five new types of puzzle challenge that are sure to keep gamers guessing all night long, including “Credit Roll,” where players guess the film based on the list of characters and actors; “Child’s Play,” where they guess the name of the film based on a child’s drawing of a film scene; and “Quotables,” where they are challenged to finish a famous line from a featured film. In addition, all 21 puzzle types have been designed to provide the ultimate multiplayer experience on Xbox 360.*

· Starring the Big Button Controller. “Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action” will be shipped with four new wireless Big Button Controllers, so each gamer has his or her own buzzer. Making games such as “Scene It?” more approachable for all types of players, the Big Button Controller takes its inspiration from the game show buzzers of yesteryear but uses the latest infrared technology to minimize the chances of an argument over who answered first.

· HD. “Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action” offers a wide assortment of movie clips in HD format as well as hundreds of stills and audio clips from players’ favorite films.

· Minimal repeats. The Xbox 360 version keeps track of questions that have already been asked and minimizes repeats so players rarely get the same question twice.

E3 2007 Microsoft Keynote

The Microsoft E3 Keynote Address just wrapped up, and before we dive into the news, it should be noted that G$ who carried the event "live" provided just horrible coverage. There was some very bad cutaways for an endless amount of car insurance, money lenders, and the like ads. Even their live online coverage suffered from having an itsy-bitsy window that made some of the awesome upcoming games hard to see.

In any event, it looks like the 360 will get a workout download a plethora of videos, demo, and even some free and costly themes and gamer pictures.

Some news to note, which will be discussed later:

+ Resident Evil 5 coming to the Xbox 360 in the future. No street date was given but this was probably the biggest surprise of the night.

+ The home game Scene It is coming to Xbox Live with a package that includes four new controllers that have a large red button with the four colored buttons vertically stacked down the slim controllers.

+ Disney comes to Xbox Live Marketplace....as in right this freakin' minute. Go look. All content are promise to be in HD and SD and future titles will be added.

+PGR4 ships sometime in September.

+ Mass Effect will ship in November.

+ A more kid friendly Viva Pinata, Viva Pinata: Party Animals which features 50 mini-games will ship this Fall.

+ A "special edition" Halo 3 Xbox 360 will be out in time for the Holidays. No further info on any special content...but it looks like the Elite, just very grey.

For more details, pics, and E3 notes, check back with us through out the week.

Welcome to the Married Gamers!

Our podcast should be up by Monday. So keep checking back with us, we'd be glad to have 'ya.
